Friday sees Gibraltar United’s first tough test of the season against last year’s running mate for 3rd place, St Joseph’s. The Saints come into the game following a comprehensive 5-0 drubbing of recently promoted F.C. Boca Juniors and reinforced their side over the summer. Former United players Brad Power and Evan Green were joined by Guerrero from Glacis, Al Greene from Lions and Ryan Casciaro from Lincoln. St Joseph’s will prove a tough nut to crack and the game promises to be tense and exciting.

Erin will serve the last game of his suspension but otherwise Lucas has his full squad to choose from. Some impressive performances against Lions should fill the squad with confidence for the match kicking off Friday at 20:30

The start of the 18/19 Season is upon us and much has happened since United’s last official match left them at the gates of Europe. Manolo left the club and Lucas Cazorla takes the helm for his first game as manager. Several players are in line for debuts as the squad has also seen somewhat of an overhaul. Yet the core of the team is there as Chino, Erin, Bosio, Aymen, Dani, Carrasco and Negrette are ready to lead the squad into the new challenge.

Lions for their part have lost last season’s top scorer Llaves to Gibraltar Phoenix and veteran Al Greene to St Joseph’s. In come former United players Jamie Bosio and Kaylan Rumbo, both from FC Olympique in the Second Division, and David Gallardo from Phoenix. Yet United know that games against Lions are tough encounters with the redoubtable Perez and Breakspear at the back. Kick off is Tuesday at 20:30 and boy are we glad that football is back!!!

United come into the game with morale sky high following the win over Lincoln. It came at a price however with Bosio and Carrasco picking up costly bookings. Marco has resumed full fitness and the squads morale was further bouyed by news of Roman’s quicker than expected recovery from injury and he may rejoin the fold soon.

Glacis also come into the game in good form after getting 6 past Man 62. Cerezo bagged himself 4 in that game but both Sidi and defensive stalwart Cano will be absent due to suspension. A win is a must to keep third place; kick off Friday 20:30.

United come into match following a hard fought draw against St Joseph’s while Lions F.C. gained a point from their match against Manchester 62. Lions have picked up some form lately following a spate of matches in which they shipped an inordinate number of goals. A very uncharacteristc run of form for the Oranges that are often a resolute side to break down.

Manolo has all players available except for Farinha who misses out due to a ban for accumulation of cards and Marco who is still missing through injury. Morale is high following the performance against St Joseph’s and the goal as always the three points. Kick off 18:15 Saturday.

United’s next fixturs is a Round 23 fixture whose games are being played out during the season. It sees us face an in form Mons Calpe fresh from two straight victories over Lincoln and Lions. In Blanco and Pibe they have a proven strike force and have found some defensive solidity off late. United already have two vicotries over the Calpeans this season and will look to a hat trick of wins to keep the pressure on St Joseph’s going into the weekend.

United see the return of several players welcoming back Baio and Power to the fold. The team is in good form and morale after the Europa game is sky high and Manolo will seek to capitalise on this good feeling. We are under no illusions however and know that Mons will be a tough nut to crack. Kick off 20:30 Tuesday 10th April.

Phoenix have had a tough second round that has seen them plumett down the table but has also seen seem achieve some surprising results. Their inconsistency has been their achilles heel and Alberto Ferri is back on the bench. Phoenix played their game in hand as recently as last Wednesday and battled hard for a point against Mons Calpe, though they finished the game with 9 men with former United player Ashley Rodriguez one of those seeing red. That said Phoenix are a tough side to break down and came back from a 2-0 defecit  in our game earlier the season.

United come into the game in good form following two good victories in the Rock Cup and the league against Glacis United last time out. All Internationals are back in the fold and the players have worked hard in training knowing the stakes are very high. Baio starts a two match suspension but other than that all other players remain available to Manolo for the match. A rather unsual midday kick off on Easter Monday.

United will no doubt be seeking some measure of revenge after losing 2 – 0 to Glacis way back in November in an ill tempered match which say Ayman Elghobashy getting sent off for a head butt. Since then the fortunes of both clubs have moved in opposite directions. United came back strongly after the winter break and are vying with St Joseph’s for third place while Glacis United had a very rocky return after the restart.

Both teams, however, come into the game on the back of scoring 6 in their last matches. Glacis played out the match of the season so far against Man 62 beating them 6 – 4 while United sealed their passage to the Semi Finals of the Rock Cup by seeing off F.C. Olympique 13 6 – 0 on Sunday. United know that every point between now and the end of the season is crucial and with St Jospeh’s 2 points ahead this is another crucial game.

United hold fond memories of the last official encounter against Olympique as we were crowned Division 2 champions and won promotion in that match in 2015. Much has changed for both clubs since. FCO13 were taken over in the summer by Nigierian businessman Sunday Adeleye. They filled their squad with decent local players and are riding high in the Second Division. Former United players Robert Montovio, Kaylan Rumbo, Alan Parker, Duane Robba. Max Bothen and Jamie Bosio all ply their trade with Olympique so the match holds a certain amount of interest.

United come into the game with a full bill of health, other than Roman, and every single player is available for selection following Bosio’s return after missing out against Lincoln due to 5 yellows. Will United surge through to the semi-finals or will there be a cup upset on the cards? Kick off 19:00 Sunday 11th March.

Lincoln pretty much carried on where they left off pre winter break and the only points they have dropped all season has been in the game against Europa FC. That said they have been taken to the wire a number of times this season. Shrewd transfer business in January has strengthened the main unit and the Imps are still running away at the top of the league.

United come into the game following a 3-1 victory versus Mons Calpe. Though Jamie Bosio is missing due to an accumulation of yellow cards, both Baio and Aguiar are back following suspensions. United are playing well and in good form with kick off scheduled for Wednesday at 20:30 it promises to be an interesting match up

United saw off Mons Calpe 3-1 in early November, in what was possibly our best performance so far this season and the Calpeans had a very out of sorts First Round. They changed managers during the Winter Break and have reinforced well and are in a rich vein of form being since the restart, their only loss being a narrow 1-0 defeat to Europa.

United see the return of several players following a one match suspension for the accumulation of yellow cards but have Aguiar missing following his two yellows in the game against Lions. Roman Salado is also a long term absentee due to injury. Spots are up for grabs in the team and the players have hit the trainig ground hard. Kick off this Wednesday evening at 20:30.
