Lucas Cazorla (Manager)
Lucas Cazorla replaced Manolo Sanchez Nuñez in July 2018. He comes from managing Spanish side Velez Malaga but is perhaps best known for his spell in the Welsh Premier League managing Llanelli and taking them to their first ever European campaign. His playing career took him to many of the clubs along the Costa del Sol but unlike his younger brother, Lucas forged his reputation on the bench rather than on the pitch. He is known for expansive and attacking football and is eager to cut his teeth in the Premier Division.
Javier Sanchez Alfaro (Assistant Manager)
Javi is no stranger to local football having strong ties to Glacis United and indeed Gibraltar United in its former guise. A professional footballer in his youth, he was part of the youth setup and Real Madrid and later spent a couple of seasons with Real Zaragoza. Injuries ended his career prematurely but he would rekindle his love affair with the game in Gibraltar. A very well known face in Youth and Senior football he has managed both Gibraltar United and Glacis United and a plethora of teams at Junior Level. He is into his fourth season as assistant manager and is currently furthering his development by sitting his Level 2 coaching badges.
Pablo Domingo Fernandez (Physical Trainer)
Pablo is no stranger to local football having being on the books at Glacis United both as a player and physical trainer and at Lions FC last season. He started his career with Zabal in La Linea but soon came to ply his trade in Gibraltar. Pablo was also part of the Algeciras techincal team that took the team to the playoffs in 2016. He has been drilling the team hard during pre season and will be another new face on United’s bench this season.
Antonio Notario Caro (Goalkeeping Coach)
Antonio is perhaps one of the most familiar faces to join the club in recent years on the back of 124 appearances for Sevilla as goalkeeper in the early 2000’s winning the UEFA Cup. He was also capped by Spain at U19 and U23 level. He hung up his gloves at the end of the 2010 season and qualified as a goalkeeping coach. He comes to share the weight of his experiences with the keepers we have on the books and has a no nonsense approach to the job.
Gavin Viñales (Physio)
Gavin is a very well known local personality through his Gibral-Flora business. He is also a very accomplished physio and masseur that provides an indispensable service to the playing staff. Gavin is also in his fourth year with the Club and can be considered the life and soul of the party when the manager allows the player’s to put their hair down! Always in good cheer, Gavin is the consumate professional on match day or whenever his services are required.
Francis Huart (Team Delegate)
Francis joined the backroom staff towards the end of the 2016/17 season and is another well known face in football circles. A solid keeper in his day he regularly turns out for the GFA veterans in their exhibition matches. Though he is nominally Team Delegate he is also our kitman and equipment manager. A tireless workhorse that is passionate about his job and his commitment to the casue and colours is unquestionable. Another very popular member of the backroom staff he has earned the respect and affection of everyone at the club.
